Yes they are. Mens sizes are one size larger than a women’s. If you take a six women, you would take a 5 in a mens. Basically, you would go a size lower than your shoe size. A mens shoe is a wider shoe unless specified as a narrow shoe or sneaker.

Yes they are. You can see this for yourself if you buy insoles for shoes, there’s a pattern for cutting them down and sizing them, it’s easy to see the difference.
